Butterfly Garden

This is a dead spot right to the left of the bird bath. Whatever I plant there dies. Everything around it looks just fine. These were big beautiful blue salvia a few days ago before I transplanted them from the corner garden. I try to give this spot extra water, but something is just not happening.
